We are very proud to have won a Silver Medal at this top wine competition which has entries from both NZ and overseas. This Pinot Noir is produced from 100% Estate grown fruit which underwent maceration and fermentation for approximately three weeks, 20% whole bunch. The wine is then aged 30% in new French barriques with the balance in seasoned oak for 12 months, after which the wine is then bottled unfiltered and un-fined. Bob Campbell MW awarded this wine with a Silver Ribbon also under his Real Review wine judging platform.
Enticing aromatics of violets, dark cherry, redcurrants and cedar lead to a luscious palate, finishing with silky smooth tannins.
Immensely complex and enticing, the wine shows dark berry, dried herb, game and roasted nut aromas with forest floor nuances. The concentrated palate is both graceful and powerful, displaying silken texture and rich savoury nuances. At its best: now to 2030.
