A warm spring with moistured soil from the winter ensured a good fruit set. Three hot summer months allowed a great ripening. In total Wairarapa this warm weather patterns experienced an increase in production (+82%) against the 2005 vintage.

2006 we had a very early start of harvest around mid of March. Some cooler weather and rain extended the ripening of the remaining fruit. But there was no hurry, we could pick all fruits at their perfect ripeness level.
